The Gospel Truth publication has been published and distributed for ten years. The first issue was printed in July 2012. During the last decade, there have been many major events and changes in society. Multiple hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis have hit countries around the world costing billions of dollars and causing many deaths. Famine has struck various locations, and people are dying of hunger. The COVID pandemic radically altered life, and there have been over six million related deaths.
Morality has declined quickly. This is evidenced in part by the widespread acceptance and promotion of the LGBT agenda in the media, the schools, and society at large. There have been many changes and things can look bleak. Inflation is soaring, interest rates are increasing, and energy prices are skyrocketing.
The good and praiseworthy news is that God and His Word have not changed. “I am the Lord, I change not” (Malachi 3:6). No matter how things change around us, God is a constant. It has been a great blessing for the Gospel Truth to reach this ten-year milestone of publication. The Word of God that the Gospel Truth has published and shared has not changed in the last ten years. “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8).
Governments have changed, ministries have come and gone, philosophies and ideologies of man have risen and fallen, but truth remains constant. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Jesus is still the only way to get to Heaven and that way remains a clear path. The future is bright for every child of God and for every soul that has a desire to live for God. The blood of Jesus has lost none of its efficacy, and the truth is still bringing freedom to souls bound by sin.
Praise God, there is still grace to live a holy life, and the power of grace supersedes the power of sin. Although there is so much unrest and turmoil in the world, remember the words of our Lord: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).
Regardless of the pressures and changes in our world, the purpose of the Gospel Truth publication remains the same—to publish the unchanging Word of God.
